Jerri Thompson, age 62, of Twin Valley, MN, died Friday, April 24, 2020, at Essentia Health Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Jerri Lee, the oldest son of Jerome and LaDonna (Hadland) Thompson was born in Ada, MN, on December 29, 1957. He grew up on the family farm near Flom, MN, and attended school in Waubun, MN, where he made it to the state wrestling tournament. The family attended Aspelund Lutheran Church, where Jerri was baptized and confirmed. Following his high school graduation in 1976, he entered the workforce doing construction. In 1980, Jerri met the love of his life, Dove Keezer. They made their home together near Flom and raised their family. On February 26, 2008, the couple officially tied the knot in Las Vegas, NV. Jerri worked many years with Lunde Blade and Gravel with plans of retiring this year.
Jerri was blessed with the gift to gab. He loved to visit with family, friends, or anyone that would partake in conversation with him. He also enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors. Some of his favorite pastimes included deer hunting, fishing, golfing, and taking 4-wheeler rides. Over the years, Jerri remained an avid and loyal Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan and in his younger years, he even played softball. Above all, his family was the most important. Jerri loved spending time with family and friends, especially all his grandkids. Win or lose, he was there cheering them on in all their school sporting events. Although gone too soon, Jerri will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Jerri is survived by his wife, Dove, of Twin Valley; a son, Nakoya Keezer of White Earth; three daughters: Verna (Robert) Thompson of Twin Valley, Laura (Jamie) Erickson of Waubun, and Josie Keezer also of White Earth; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Jim (Karen) Thompson of Twin Valley and Jeff (Tiffany) Thompson of Mahnomen, MN; a special friend, Melvin Maha also of Twin Valley and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jeremy; three sisters, Sonja and twin infant girls, Cheryl and Cherrie; and two infant stillborn brothers.
Blessed be the memory of Jerri Thompson.
