Monday, January 11 is a Blue Day for Crookston High School.

The Crookston City Council will meet Monday, January 11 at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. The Ways & Means Committee will meet immediately following City Council. The possibility of a closed session exists with both meetings. A special closed City Council meeting will be held following the Ways & Means Committee meeting for negotiations discussion pursuant to MN Government Data Practices Act Statute 13D.03 Subd. 1 (b).

The Golden Link will have recycled cards Tuesday, January 12 at 1 p.m. 

The Villa Auxiliary will meet Tuesday, January 12 at 3:30 p.m. in the living room at the Cathedral. 

The Fisher American Legion will have Legion and SAL meetings Tuesday, January 12 at 7 p.m. 

All Crookston High School students will work in Google Classroom Wednesday, January 13. 

The Golden Link will have comfort bears Wednesday, January 13 at 9 a.m. 

Tri-Valley Opportunity Council and Polk County Public Health are hosting a virtual Coffee & Connection Game Time event Wednesday, January 13 from 10-11 a.m. with trivia. To get a link to the meeting call 218-277-0898. 

The Crookston School District will have a Teacher Workshop Day Wednesday, January 13. A work will be in Google Classroom. 

There will be COVID-19 testing at the Crookston Armory Wednesday, January 13 through Saturday, January 16 from 12-6 p.m. 

The Fisher American Legion will have burger night Wednesday, January 13. 

Thursday, January 14 is a Blue Day for Crookston High School. 

The Crookston Airport Commission will meet Thursday, January 14 at 8 a.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall to discuss the master plan. 

The RiverView Health CPR Class for Thursday, January 14 is full. Therefore, two CPR classes will be held Friday, January 15 from 6-10 p.m. One class will be held for certification for $50, and another for friends and family – no certification and no cost. Benedictine Living Community / Crookston (The Villa & SUMMIT) residents and tenants are in need of 2021 wall calendars.  If you have any to spare, please drop them off at the Screening Desk at the Villa’s Main Entrance. 

The Crookston School District will have a Teacher Workshop Day Monday, January 18. All work will be in Google Classroom. 

The Crookston Public Library will be closed Monday, January 18. 

The Golden Link will have a homemade soup fundraiser Monday, January 18. They will offer hot soup and cold sandwiches for lunch for $6. They will also be offering pints of hot homemade soup for $4.50 and quarts for $8 Monday and pints and quarts of cold soup Tuesday, January 19 through Wednesday, January 20, while supplies last. The soup choices are: California medley cheese soup, bean with bacon, chicken knoephla, old fashion tomato, split pea and ham, and beef vegetable chili.

RiverView Health will host a four-hour First Aid Course from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Thursday, February 4 at the RiverView Home Care building, 721 South Minnesota Street, Crookston. Cost is $50 for those needing certification and for those not needing certification the class is free. The Crookston Friends of the Library meet the third Monday of each month at 7 p.m.

The Crookston Library Board meets the first Wednesday of each month at 5:15. 

The Cove Youth Center in Crookston will be open Wednesdays and Fridays from 3:30-6:30 p.m. for 7th-8th graders, and from 6:30-9:30 p.m. for 9th-12th graders. The facility is currently limited to 14 students at one time due to COVID-19. Students and parents should call ahead to check availability of the youth center at 218-470-0149. 

SUMMIT tenant families and friends dropping off groceries and other items. PLEASE use the South Villa MAIN Door during business hours. If you need to make other arrangements, please call 218-281-3424.

Polk County Public Health is available to answer questions about COVID 19, and help obtain essential services such as groceries, medications, and other daily items at 281-3385.  The phone is staffed Monday through Friday 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Hugo’s Family Marketplace is offering shopping for seniors and people with illnesses from 6-7:30 a.m. Monday through Friday, and 8-9 a.m. Saturdays, and Sundays during the COVID-19 pandemic.
