LeVonne A. Hekman, 84, of Ada, MN passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND, after a brief illness.
LeVonne Ann (Dukleth) Hekman was born on April 13, 1936 to Oliver and Violet Dukleth. She grew up in the Hendrum area, spending time with her brothers and sisters down by the river. After high school LeVonne married Robert (Bob) Hekman, and they remained in the Ada area. She worked at the old Ada Hospital in the kitchen. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and loved giving it away to her kids.
She had a unique personality unmatched by others, her sister, Ollie and her had fun discussing how different there tastes were. She enjoyed spending time and going out with her brother Orville, and her sister Pam. Most of all, she loved her grandchildren with her whole heart and they were her world.
Years after Bob’s passing she decided to downsize and she moved into the Sorenson Apartments. Shortly after, she then decided she wanted to move to Valley View Apartments, were she met and enjoyed the company of many people. She spent time visiting, baking and playing bingo. She loved going for drives and just “going out and about” as her grandson, Greg always said. She loved running to Walmart and would go with whomever she could ride with. A year ago, she traveled with her sister, brother, and sister-in-law to Washington State to visit her brothers, Gary and Warren.
LeVonne is survived by her daughters, Susie (Jim) Sargent, Becky Baillie (Chuck Brown), Joyce (Kurt) Anderson, and Brenda (John) Brantl; sister, Ollie Hess; brothers, Orville (Pam) Dukleth, and Gary (Deb) Dukleth; grandchildren, Shelby and Joby Sargent, Evan (Taylor) Mattila, Meghan (Rob) Norbryhn, Jessica Brantl, Melinda (Beau) Brandt, and Melissa (Allen) Fetterer; great-grandchildren, Valor and Torryn Tollefson, Payton and Kase Mattila, Jakia, Jade and Geeah Thompson, Avery, Greysen, Corrie, and Hannah Norbryhn, Kali, Loken, and Briggs Brandt, and Addison and Kennedy Fetterer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Hekman; parents, Oliver and Violet Dukleth; grandsons, Greg Thompson, and Jared Spangler; and brother, Warren Dukleth.
Remembering you will be easy, we do it everyday. Missing you is a heartache that will never go away. In death we will love you still.
Funeral: 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home, Ada, MN, with a limited capacity of 50 or less attending, following all of the Minnesota and CDC COVID-19 social distancing guidelines. All must wear a mask to attend.
Visitation: One hour before the funeral at the funeral home.
