The Crookston Pirate Girls Tennis team lost to Staples-Motley 6-1 and are currently taking on the Moorhead Spuds at the Moorhead triangular on Friday in Moorhead.

Crookston only won the third doubles match in a 6-1 loss to the Staples-Motley Cardinals in the first match of the day.  Crookston was without one of their top players, Emma Borowicz because she is enrolled in post-secondary classes so that hurt the Pirates, but they were only a few points away from winning the match.
Audrey Harbott and Brekken Tull teamed up at third doubles to win 6-4, 6-3 for the lone Pirates win.
The Pirates lost two matches in the third set by 10-8 scores.  Halle Winjum lost her first set in the third singles match and bounced back to win the second set 6-1, before falling 10-8 in the third set.  At second doubles, Halle Bruggeman and Hannah Lindemoen lost their first set before winning the second set 6-3.  In the third set, they lost 10-8.
Crookston lost two more three-set matches with Catherine Tiedemann at second singles and Emma Gunderson at fourth singles.  Tiedemann won her first set 6-1, lost her second set 6-3 before losing in the third set 10-3.  Gunderson also won her first set before falling in the second set and losing 10-5 in the third set.
Another close loss for the Pirates came at first doubles with Emma Osborn and Eden Haller losing a very close 7-5, 7-5 match.
