VETERAN’S COUNCIL HOLDS ANNUAL MEMORIAL DAY PROGRAM

The Crookston Veteran’s Council held their annual Memorial Day Programs in Crookston and around the area.  KROX broadcast the service at Oakdale Cemetery where former Polk County Sheriff Mark LeTexier was the speaker.   Margee Keller read In Flanders Fields and Charles “Corky” Reynolds read the Reply to In Flanders Fields.  The Crookston Veterans Council members decorated the graves, Father Augie Gothman provided the invocation and Scott Kleven played Taps.
The Crookston Band Ensemble provided music, under the direction of Matthew Torgerson and George French.  Bill Cassavant served as Chaplain, and Steve Geatz led the rifle squad.
The Crookston Veterans Council is made up of all members of the Crookston American Legion Post 20, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1902, and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 14.
The council thanked Best Used Trucks of Crookston for the use of the bus for transporting everybody throughout the day.
