Crookston’s Travis Ross finished in a tie for 11th place in the Minnesota State Open Golf Championship at Bunker Hills Golf Club in Coon Rapids. Travis shot a three-round total of 216. He shot a pair of 71’s before a 74 on Sunday.
Andrew McCain of Dellwood Country Club, formerly of Minneapolis and a four-year golfer at the University of Maryland, won the event with a 207. It was the second time McCain has won the tournament.
The Minnesota State Open is a premier golf tournament bringing together top professional and amateur players all vying to have their name included with the likes of Les Bolstad, George Shortridge, and Tom Lehman as past champions.
