The Warren-Alvarado-Oslo Pony football team had five snaps go over the quarterbacks head, one led to a safety and another one led to a touchdown as the Win-E-Mac Patriots cruised to a 48-6 victory in the Minnesota State 9-Man Football quarterfinals played at Moorhead High School.
The Ponies started the game with the ball and were forced into a three and out. Win-E-Mac’s first possession started with a bang when Quarterback Gavin Walker ran the ball 23 yards to get into Pony territory. Four plays later, Walker threw a perfect pass into the endzone and Nathan Fortman made the catch for a 24-yard touchdown pass. After the two-point conversion, the Patriots led 8-0 almost halfway through the quarter. Warren-Alvarado-Oslo’s next offensive series only lasted one play after the snap went over the head of the quarterback and Win-E-Mac recovered the ball. Both teams punted on their next possessions and Win-E-Mac led 8-0 after the first quarter.

Neither team was able to do much on their next offensive series, but Win-E-Mac got the ball back at the 32-yard line. On the first play, the Patriots lost two yards on a run and after a complete pass, on third down and 10, Win-E-Mac’s Walker threw another perfect pass down the far sideline and hit Kobe Hamre on the run for a 70 yard touchdown and after a two-point conversion they led 26-0 with 7:13 left in the half.
