The University of Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagle Men’s and Women’s golf teams competed in Bemidji today.  The first round recaps for both teams are below –

The University of Minnesota Crookston men’s golf team is in eighth place out of nine teams after the first round of the Bemidji State Invite at the Bemidji Town and Country Club outside of Bemidji.

Minot State University is in the tournament lead after the first day with a score of 295, one stroke ahead of Minot State. The Golden Eagles shot a 311 on the day,  two strokes ahead of the University of Manitoba.
UMC matched their low for the season, as they shot a 311 on the first day of the J.R. Watkins Invite. 
Carter Doose of St. Cloud State University is in the lead after shooting a 70. 
Connor Humble (Jr., Rosemount) continued his strong start to the season, as Humble shot a 76 in the first round. Humble is in a tie for 18th place after one round. Dillon Sannes (Jr., Fertile) had a strong debut in the top five for Minnesota Crookston. Sannes shot a 77 on Monday. Ben Trostad (So., Crookston) turned in a 79 on the day, as did Keegan Poppenberg (Fr., Esko). Brian Bekkala (Jr., Livonia, Mich.) turned in an 81.  Matthew Moroz (Fr., Edmonton, Manitoba) carded an 84, golfing unattached, while Josh Olson (Fr., Fargo, N.D.) turned in an 86.

The University of Minnesota Crookston women’s golf team sits in 10th out of 10 teams at the Tracy Lane Memorial played at the Bemidji Town and Country Club in Bemidji.
The Golden Eagles put up a team score of 420 on the first day. Augustana leads after the first round with a 324, 13 strokes ahead of Minot State University. Hannah Hankinson of Augustana University is in the individual lead after carding a 75.
Anna Olson (Jr., Fertile) led UMC with a 95, Allison Bot (Sr., Minneota) carded a 100, Peyton Hennen (Fr., Morris) shot a 107, Madi Andring (Fr., Hawley) carded a 118, while Marlee Steffes (So., Fertile) shot a 126.
The second and final round will be played on Tuesday.
