The 4th Annual 4 person Hugo’s Family Marketplace Golf Tournament will be today at Minakwa Golf Course.  It’s an 18 Hole Scramble with registration at 8:00 a.m. and Shotgun Start at 9:00 a.m.there will be cash prizes and raffle drawings. The Red Lake County Fair is today through June 30 in Oklee. WOJO Rodeo will be there Friday and Saturday night and there’s lots of fun activities for kids.

The Wesley United Methodist Church at 701 Eickhof Blvd. will have their Summer Salad Luncheon today from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Call 281-3393 for takeouts.  Their Summer Salad Luncheons are held the last Thursday of June, July, August and September.

Stenshoel Houske Community Summer Remembrance Event and Open house will be from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. This is a gathering for those who have lost a loved and will include a meal and butterfly release.

RiverView Health will host a free noon luncheon “The Benefits of Botox for Chronic Migraine” with featured speaker Dr. Panjini Sivanna, Pain Management Specialist at RiverView Health. University of Minnesota Extension is offering four University of Minnesota Small Grains Summer Plot Tours in Northern Minnesota in July to address small grain production issues, variety performance, and insect and disease pests. Sign up now for the UMC Teambackers 29th Annual Golf Classic that will be held on Friday, July 19th at Minakwa Golf Course. The Northwest Research and Outreach Center’s (NWROC) annual Crops and Soils Day will be Wednesday, July 17, at NWROC’s North Farm located one mile north of the UMC on Highway 75 North.  Registration and CEU signup for the morning program is 7:45 a.m. with tours beginning at 8:15 a.m. Registration and CEU signup for the afternoon sugarbeet tour opens at 12:30 p.m. The sugarbeet program will start at 12:50 with two tours running simultaneously.  A complimentary lunch will be served at noon for all guests.

The Rydell National Wildlife Refuge will have a Learning at the Lakes program at their visitor’s center Saturday, July 20.  The program will feature live raptors from The Nature Connection.

The Summer Food Service Program runs Monday through Friday until August 17.  Free meals are available for kids and teens at the Crookston Family Service Center.  Breakfast is 8:00 to 9:30 a.m., lunch is 10:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. 

Due to the RiverView Health construction, the south entrance to the Altru Clinic parking lot will be closed effective until further notice. Please use Carroll Street to access the north entrance to the Altru Clinic parking lot.  Altru Clinic will like to apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. 

Branch and twig collection will be held the second and fourth Mondays of each month running May through October.  Place the materials on your curbside. Branches must be cut in four-foot lengths and bundled in order for the crews to take them away.  Any branches or tree trunks not cut to this length and bundled will be left for the owner to haul away. Twigs may be in boxes or bags. Individuals removing their diseased elm trees should call City Hall to schedule pickup.It’s never too late to learn. The Crookston Public Library hosts baby bounce the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at 10:00 a.m. with songs, stories, flannel board, action poems for infants and toddlers plus their caregivers.

The Crookston Public Library hosts WOW: What’s on Wednesday? the second Wednesday of each month at 2:00 p.m. for children ages 7-12 with crafts, activities and more. 

Riverview Health’s monthly Type 2 Diabetes Support Group meets the fourth Wednesday of every month from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at RiverView Health in Meeting Room 1.  The group is led by RiverView Dietitian Darcy Larson, RD, LD and Kelsey Billing, RN, BSN. The Type 2 meetings are open to anyone with Type 2 diabetes and their family members.  New members are always welcome.

Every Thursday at 10:30 a.m., preschool children and their caregivers are invited to Storytime at the Crookston Public Library. Each week, they’ll explore a different theme through stories, songs, finger plays, flannel board stories, and a craft. No pre-registration is required, but they ask childcare providers and other groups to call ahead to ensure there will be adequate supplies at 281-4522.

Hospice of the Red River Valley is offering a seasonal grief support group in Crookston the first and third Thursday of the month April through June from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Crookston Public Library. The grief support group is free and open to any adult 18 years and older who are grieving the loss of a loved one through death. There is no pre-registration required to attend the group.

The Crookston Public Library hosts an Adult Craft Group the second Saturday of each month at 1:00 p.m. free of charge and open to all people of all experience levels to bring their unfinished projects and join others for encouragement and inspiration.
