The University of Minnesota Crookston men’s golf team placed ninth at the fifth annual Minot Junior Golf Association (MJCA) Collegiate at Aliante Golf Club in North Las Vegas, Nevada. Winona State finished second and Crookston High School graduate and current Winona State golfer, Isaac Westlake finished second place individually with a three-round total of 2 over par with rounds of 69, 78, 71 for 218 and Winona State (pictured right) was second out of ten teams with a 905.
The UMC Golden Eagles shot rounds of 352, 335, and 332 for a total of 1019 which was 10th out of 10 teams. UMC was led by Connor Humble (So., Rosemount), who shot rounds of 82, 80 and 73. Ben Trostad (Fr., Crookston) turned in rounds of 91, 82, and 80. Ben Koisti (Sr., Lake Norden, S.D.) carded rounds of 93, 82, and 84. Ethan Magsam (Fr., Crookston) turned in rounds of 90, 89, and 90, and Ethan Johnson (Sr., Roseau) carded rounds of 91, 89, and 90.
Logan Skalka of Westminster University picked up the individual championship with rounds of 78, 71, and 68 over the three rounds.
The Golden Eagles continue their trip to Nevada as they take part in the Winona State Men’s Golf Invitational March 12-13 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
